I suspect it's Gavros bringing his EU thread level of humour over here and he means Soi Cowboy. Think it's closer to Nana, from my recollections.

I seem to recall that they've slung elevated footways under the BTS in some places, too.

I hate catching taxis around lower Sukhumvit at night. There are some scum driving cabs at night here, and a lot of them aren't real taxis.
If someone gets me home at night without giving me shit or talking too much, I give a decent tip.
And as for the shit boxes that pass for busses here...
I never saw Bangkok before the BTS, but it must have been hard work.

You've spent too much time living there!

Re the Sportsman, I only would have recommended it as it's one of the only bars round there where you're not being hassled by brasses all night and ISN'T full of OAPs. Mind you that's probably 2 negatives for most of WHO.

Here's another tip. The bar UNDER the Sportsman makes "Soi oily" look like a nunnery.

Although I was under the impression that the guy who owned the building sold/redeveloped it a few years back.

Must check it out next time I'm there.

Oh, and the Kiwi bar in Soi 8 for sport.

You lot are fucking naive. Just tell them you\\re going to the airport, then ask them to put their meter on.

Once in, ask him to swing by a hotel close to the bar you want "to get your bags".

When you get there just pay up and walk away.

A tip:

If you do go to Sukhumvit (came here to recommended the Sportsman), don't bother fucking about with taxis, just get the metro/bts. Extremely efficient, all the signs are in English, and nowhere near as much hassle as dealing with cabbies who see you as a walking ATM.

I know everyone says "oh if they don't turn their meter on just get the next one" but after about 20 minutes of standing around doing that having the exact same conversation with a dozen cabbies it gets rather annoying.

You and Nutsac should get together for a game of soggy biscuit.
